Kathy Payne Hahn

Kathy Gwen Payne Hahn, 50, of Kansas City, MO formerly of Dothan, WV died on Monday, December 26, 2005 at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS following a courageous battle with cancer. Born April 21, 1955 at Oak Hill, WV she was the daughter of Woodrow and Mary Lou (Payne) Payne of Dothan, WV. Kathy was a graduate of Collins High School, Oak Hill, WV class of 1973 and was a homemaker. Kathy was a vibrant person whose smile touched many lives. She was caring and compassionate and always put others needs before her own. Kathy will be missed by all who knew her. Special thanks to Mary Washington for her inspiration throughout Kathy's illness. Also, to the whole 42nd unit at the Kansas University Medical Center. Additional survivors include her husband of thirty years, Dr. James K. Hahn; one son, Zack Hahn and one daughter, Jessica Hahn both of Kansas City, MO; one sister, Deanna (Gerald) Lucas of Oak Hill, WV and one brother, Charlie (Becky) Payne of Mossy, WV. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Wednesday, January 4, 2006, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Services will be on Wednesday, January 4, 2006, at 1:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Lum Toney officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV. Zach Hahn, Charlie Payne, Gerald Lucas, Craig Lucas, Richard Wark, and Pete Demaria will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the KU Endowment Unit 423901 Rainbow Blvd., Kansas City, KS 66160.
