Kathy Withrow Cody

Heaven gained another angel when Kathy Lou Withrow Cody , 53, of Scarbro, WV died on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at CAMC - General Division in Charleston, WV with her husband, children and sister by her side. She went to join her son, Stanley Edward "Eddie" Cody on the second anniversary of his death. Born June 05, 1957 at Oak Hill, WV she was the daughter of the late James H. "Jimmy" and Clara Erdeen Smith Withrow. Kathy was one of a kind whose mold was surely broken. She was a strong, unselfish woman who always put others needs before her own. She was a dedicated wife, mother and friend who always had an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on and whose heart broke for those who were hurting or in need. She was already an angel in the eyes of those who knew her but now she has her wings - God set her free. We love you Kathy and we will miss you but we will see you again one day. Until then we say to you "fly free from the pain, fly free from the hurt, spread your wings and fly our dear angel." Kathy was a wonderful wife to Stanley Cody and an amazing mother to Amy Thompson and Aaron Cody. Also left to cherish her memory are her son-in-law, Roger Thompson, daughter-in-law, Misti Fernandez Cody, two sisters, Carolyn Sue Withrow and Elizabeth Ann Ellis, brother, Donald as well as two sisters-in-law and six brothers-in-law. Also surviving are her four grandchildren whom she loved more than life itself, Makayla Thompson, Abby Thompson, Dalton Cody and Autumn Cody, many nieces and nephews - several that she took in and called her "adopted children" (and they know who they are) as well as many great friends. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home,in Oak Hill with Rev. Richard Allen , Rev. Robert Pauley and Rev. David Painter officiating. Burial will be at Bibb Cemetery, Gatewood. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home , Oak Hill on Monday, March 14, 2011 from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
