June M. Cobb Bickford

Surrounded by her loving family, June Marie Cobb Bickford , 86, of Oak Hill, WV passed away at her home on Monday, September 29, 2014 following a two year battle with cancer.
Born July 08, 1928 at Rock Lick, WV she was the daughter of the late Perry W. and Mabel Harris Cobb.
She graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1946, was a homemaker and retired from Sears Roebuck.
Mrs. Bickford was a long-time member of the Oak Hill Gospel Tabernacle. She enjoyed reading and cooking wonderful meals for her family and friends.
Her husband, Thomas Kelley Bickford, Sr. preceded her in death as did a brother, P.W. Cobb.
She is survived by a sister, Janice Rackley of Alliance, OH; and her children, Kathryn Zutaut and husband, Bryan, Vicki Bickford, and Douglas Bickford and wife, Evangeline all of Oak Hill and Tom Bickford, Jr. and wife, Donna of Milton.
June was the proud grandmother of Kristin Meadows and husband, Joedy of Culpepper, VA, Tara Zutaut and fiance' Justin Vargo, and Jonathan and Matthew Bickford all of Oak Hill; and Brandon, Brad and Brooke Bickford of Milton.
She was the loving great grandmother to Jacob Barnett, Brynley and Aly Meadows of Culpepper, VA and Ryleigh Stone of Oak Hill; and will be missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. David Gallimore and Rev. James Keaton officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Hospice, and especially nurses Tammy and Courtney.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Gospel Tabernacle, 124 Oyler Avenue, Oak Hill, WV 25901; Oak Hill Public Library, 611 Main Street West, Oak Hill, WV 25901; or Hospice of Southern West Virginia, PO Box 1472, Beckley WV 25802.
