Julia Eileen Bika Thompson , 71, of Oceana, WV died on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.

Born April 11, 1941 at Skelton, WV she was the daughter of the late John and Sylvia Catherine Perdue Bika.

She was a member of the Church of Christ of Oceana.

Julia was a homemaker. She enjoyed painting, giving several of her paintings to family members and friends.

A brother, James Bika and a sister, Shirley Puckett preceded her in death.

Survivors include her loving and devoted husband, Thomas N. "Tommy" Thompson, two loving daughters, Donna Tanner and husband, Steve of Beckley and Patricia Elswick and husband, Steve of Mt. Nebo, and two grandchildren, Morgan Elswick and Caleb Elswick.

She is also survived by two sisters, JoAnn Blake and husband, Pete of Beckley and Debbie Frey and husband, Barry of North Carolina, and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Minister Adam Davis officiating. Burial will be at Pax Community Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Husband, Tommy Thompson, sons-in-law, Steve Tanner and Steve Elswick, grandson, Caleb Elswick and nephews, Joel Thompson and Daniel Thompson will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley WV 25801.
