Judy Ann Buzzard Pauley

Proverbs 31: 10-22- Judy Ann Buzzard Pauley, 69, of Scarbro, formerly of Pineville, went peacefully into Heaven to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at the Bowers Hospice House surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 26, 1943, in Comfort, WV, she was the daughter of the late John and Sabie Holstein Buzzard. Judy devoted her life to her family, making her house a home full of love and laughter, and was able to do so until her final days. She accepted Christ in 1998, and was a member of Packs Branch Baptist Church. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Herman Williams, Ray Newton (Tommy) Buzzard, John Buzzard, Brady Buzzard, an infant brother Frank Buzzard, her sister, Ruth Williams-Smith, her parents-in-law that she loved as her own, James and Pearl Pauley, and a brother-in-law, Danny Pauley. Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of 53 years, Samuel Pauley Sr., her children who cherished her, Samuel Pauley Jr. and wife Emma of Scarbro, Dwight Pauley and wife Kathryn of Lexington, SC, Judith )Charlie) Thompson and husband Cecil of Glen Fork, and James Pauley and wife Vicki of Beckley, her grandchildren that she loved to spoil, Michael (Angela) Pauley, Jeffrey (Kendall) Pauley, Matthew (Rochelle) Pauley, Trenton Pauley, Marianna Pauley, Steven (Tiffaney) Thompson, Joshua (Kayla) Thompson, Jacob Jones, and Ryan Pauley, her great grandchildren that she called her babies, “Little Matt”, Raven, Aiden, Austin, Shelby, Aurora, and Alyvia Pauley, Josiah Thompson, and one due in April, 2013, sisters, Betty White of Matewan, Barbara Barker of Ashford, Gladys Meadows and Marie Adkins, both of Comfort, a brother Donald Buzzard of Cleveland, OH, brothers-in-law Michael Pauley of Oceana and Ray Pauley of Huntington, sisters-in-law Sherry Bailey and Diana Casto, both of Ripley, and many other family members and friends. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p,m, on Friday, August 24, 2012 at Tyree Funeral Home in Mt. Hope with Rev. Cecil Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2012 from 6 til 8 p.m. At Tyree Funeral Home, Mt. Hope. Sons and Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family wishes to extend their most heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Southern West Virginia for the outstanding and compassionate care they gave to all of us during this time. We also wish to give a special thanks to hospice nurses Diane, Katie, Tammy and Debbie, Dr. Shim and Dr. “Jenny”, Amedisys Home Health Care, Heather, Ryan, Amy, and Karen, as well as Packs Branch Baptist Church and Pastor Sam Vance, all of which helped us more than we can ever express.
