Judith "Judy" Wood Ward

Judith Wood Ward, 69, of Fayetteville, WV died on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the Palliative Carecenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley in Newton, NC. She was born on February 17, 1941 at Ansted,WV the daughter of the late Gladys Horrocks Wood Black and Joseph H. "Bunk" Wood, Sr. and stepdaughter of the late Sam Black. She was a homemaker and former employee of banking and retail industries. She attended Fayetteville Baptist Church and was a 1959 graduate of Nuttall High School. She was preceded in death by her parents,and by her husband, Joe Ward in 1997. Survivors include a brother, Joseph H. Wood, Jr. and wife, Nanette of Sherrills Ford, NC; a sister, Sonja B. Linthicum of Oakboro, NC; a niece, Michelle L. Terry and husband, Steve of York, SC; nephews, Barton Linthicum and wife, Cereise of Locust, NC, Bret H. Wood and wife, Miriam of Palm Coast, FL, Scott Wood of Racine, WV; a special aunt, Kay Hall of North Carolina. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with the Rev. Ron George officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity. Friends may call from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday evening at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill.
