Retha Juanita Davis Ellison, 88, of Mount Hope, dies peacefully on Friday, October 9, 2015 at the Bower's Hospice House following a long illness.
Born November 4, 1926 in Mount Hope, Fayette County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Emmett and Nora Stone Davis of Scarbro.
Juanita was employed by Merchants and Miners National Bank in Oak Hill for many years. She was a lady of great faith and was active in the United Methodist Church in Mount Hope and Oak Hill. She was a great lover of animals and her many pets over the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years. Norville L. Ellison of Mount Hope; and her brother, Carlos Davis of Oak Hill,
Surviving are her sisters, Ramona L. Ford of Oak Hill and Dolorce Janiszewski of Fairfax, Virginia.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 12, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with the Dr. Charles Miller and Rev. Williaml Slates officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Mount Hope Lions Club or the New River Humane Society, PO Box 955, Fayetteville, WV 25840 are suggested.
The family expresses appreciation to the care givers at the Summit at Hidden Valley, Hidden Valley Nursing Home, and the Bower's Hospice House.
Entombment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, WV.
