Joyce Ann Drennen

Joyce Ann Hodges Drennen , 78, of Oak Hill, WV was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the Dogwood Village in Orange, VA.
Born October 11, 1935 at Fayetteville, WV she was the daughter of the late Raymond Hayes and Mary Agnes Bush Hodges.
Joyce was a life-long member of the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene and a member of the Goldeneers group.
She was a 1953 graduate of Collins High School in Oak Hill and a 1956 graduate of the Laird Memorial Hospital registered nursing program. She was a retired public health nurse for the Fayette County Health Department with 28 years service.
Her husband of almost 50 years, William Forest Drennen, Jr. preceded her in death.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Rickey Drennen of Chester, VA, Terry Drennen and wife, Tammy of Oak Hill and Gregory Drennen and wife, Cathy of Troy, VA and grandchildren, Matthew and Sarah Drennen.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Church of the Nazarene in Oak Hill with Dr. Randy James and Pastor Jerry Bush officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
Rickey, Gregory, Terry and Matthew Drennen, Raynell Toler and Ben Bowling will serve as pallbearers.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the University of Virginia Medical Center and Dogwood Village of Orange, VA for the compassionate care and attention given to Joyce. They would also like to express their deep gratitude to all the friends and church family for the numerous prayers, visits, gifts, cards and other acts of kindness throughout her illness.
