Joyce Johnson Bell

Joyce Jean Johnson Bell, 74, of Oak Hill, WV died on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born August 26, 1934 at Fayetteville, WV she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Jean Patrick Johnson. She was a homemaker. Joyce graduated from the Ashland (KY) High School in 1952. Governor Wallace Wilkinson named her a Kentucky Colonel on June 15, 1988. She was a gardener and enjoyed cooking for others. Survivors include husband, Thomas J. Bell of Mahaffey, PA; two sons, Gregory Bell of Palmyra, PA and Brian Bell of Mahaffey, PA; one daughter, Kelly Yarger of DuBois, PA; grandchildren, Kristin Bell, Jeffrey Bell, Isaac Bell, Jenipher Pierce, Joshua Wazelle, Brian Bell, Jr. and Brittani Bell and two great grandchildren, Dureena and Blade Pierce. Services will be on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. David Sneed officiating with cremation to follow. Cremains will be interred at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill at a later date.
