Josephine Marie Lafferty

Josephine Marie Lafferty, 82, of Oak Hill, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024 in a Beckley hospital. 

Born December 21, 1941, at Tamroy, West Virginia and was the daughter of the late Lewis Vannatter, Sr. and Angeline Romano Vannatter. 

She was a homemaker, a member of the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church , Oak Hill, and was the last survivor of her immediate family. 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Lafferty; and two brothers, Lewis Vannatter, Jr. and Orvill Gwinn. 

Those left to cherish her memory include a granddaughter, Rhine Lafferty of Quinwood; two great grandchildren, KyleeAnn Lafferty and Maci Crist; and three special cousins, Carmen D'Angelo, Lillie Mae Shrout, and Mary Ann Flint. 

Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 11:00 A.M., at Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Oak Hill with Celebrant Father Leonard Smith. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. 

Friends may call one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. 

Pallbearers will be John Vannatter, James Vannatter, Colton ODell, Steve Miller, Steve Armstrong, and Jimmy Kincaid.
