Joseph William "Joe" Baker

Joseph William "Joe" Baker , 77, of Oak Hill, WV died on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV. Born January 20, 1933 at his family's farm in Oak Hill, WV he was the son of the late James G. and Martha Jane "Pete" Meadows Baker. After serving in the US Navy, Joe graduated from Virginia Tech. He was an electrical engineer for Unisys. After retiring he spent most of his time at his residence in Newport News, VA. Recently he returned to Oak Hill to spend his final days in the company of wonderful friends at the farm where he was born. He was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Baker Hatfield and brother, Alfred M. Baker. Survivors include one son, Joseph William Baker and his wife, Malissa, three grandchildren, Joey Baker, Nicole Baker and Steven Baker and his caregiver, Lisa Lavender. Graveside rites and committal services will be on Friday, November 26, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation.
