Joseph L. Harvey, Jr.

Joseph L. Harvey Jr., 89, formerly of Glen Jean, WV died on Thursday, November 11, 2004 at Weirton Geriatric Center in Weirton, WV. Born April 08, 1915 in Fayette County, WV he was the son of the late Joseph L. Harvey, Sr. and Virginia Blake Ash. He was a retired maintenance department worker for the Fayette County Board of Education. Mr. Harvey was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Mount Hope, WV. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Evelyn Stewart Harvey. Survivors include two sons, James E. Harvey of New Manchester, WV and Joseph L. Harvey, III of Nine Mile Falls, WA; half sister and brothers on his mother's side; half sisters and brothers on his father's side; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home on Monday, November 15, 2004, from 6:00 - 9:00 pm. Services will be on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at 11:00 am at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Jerry Cook officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Tomlinson Run State Park Foundation, PO Box 97, New Manchester, WV 26056 - earmarked for the Park Bench Fund.
