Joseph Elmer Cochran, Sr. 57, of Lochgelly, WV died on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at Veterans Administration Hospital in Beckley, WV following a long illness. Born September 10, 1948 at Oswald, WV he was the son of the late James E. Cochran, Sr. and Edna Siler Cochran. He was a driver for Tri County Delivery, Oak Hill. Joseph was a volunteer with the VA speech therapist working with throat cancer patients. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era having attained the rank of Spec 5. Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Survivors include wife, Linda Reece Cochran; one son, Joseph E. Cochran, Jr. and wife, Susie, of Beckley, WV; one daughter, Tina Cochran Hargis and husband, Jerry, of Beckley, WV; one brother, James F. Cochran, Jr. of Edgewater, FL; two sisters, June Craddock and husband, Edward , of Okeechobee, FL and Gloria Smaili of Toledo, OH and six grandchildren. He is also survived by special friends Rick and Jeannie Craigo of Oak Hill, WV and Dan and Ellen Smith of Red Star, WV. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Saturday, January 28, 2006, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Services will be on Sunday, January 29, 2006 at 3:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Pastor Jerry Bush officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill WV with military graveside rites by VFW Post #3110, Oak Hill, WV.
