Joleta Ann Pogorelski, 82, of Oak Hill, WV, peacefully passed away on Monday, January 1, 2018 in the comfort of her home.
Born on October 19, 1935, in Jumping Branch, WV, she was the daughter of the late William and Irene Waddell Midkiff. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Lewis “Mr. Pogo” Pogorelski.
She is survived by her four children, Lisa Pogorelski of Oak Hill, Walter Pogorelski of Rapid City, SD, Toni Pogorelski of Oak Hill, and Kelli Casimir of Falling Waters; grandchildren, Samuel Pogorelski of Belpre, OH, Antoni Pogorelski of Oak Hill, Aaron Pogorelski of Rapid City, SD, Madison and Maegan Casimir of Falling Waters; and great-grandchildren, Zariah and Izabella Pogorelski of Belpre, OH. Joleta was also loved and adored by her sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen Casimir and Rachel and Renee’ Pogorelski.
Joleta was a devoted wife and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a retired office manager for the town of Fayetteville with nearly 27 years of dedicated service to the community. She was an exceptional woman who enjoyed sharing stories about her children and grandchildren. Joleta also was an avid reader and card-playing and crossword puzzle enthusiast.
The family wishes to express extreme gratification to Randy Day of Oak Hill who provided care and support to our mother over the past several years.
A memorial service to celebrate Joleta’s life will be conducted by her grandson, Samuel Pogorelski and held Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
