Johnnie D. Taylor , 79, of Page, WV died on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV.

Born January 24, 1936 at Robson, WV he was the son of the late Charlie R. and F. Pauline Boggus Taylor.

Early in life Johnnie was an employee of Island Creek Stores as well as a former coal miner. He was retired from the West Virginia Department of Transportation.

Johnnie loved his home and his family. He was happiest when the sun was shining and he could work outside. He attended Page Church of God faithfully for over 50 years.

He was a veteran of the US Army.

A brother, Glenn Taylor and sister, Sarah Norita St. Clair preceded him in death.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 53 years, Edith Bailey Taylor; two children, Kim Taylor Elmore and husband, Jim and John Taylor and wife, Amy; grandchildren, Shana Elmore Clay and husband, Morgan, Michael Graham, J.T. Taylor and companion, Sarah, Jett Taylor and Kate Taylor; five great grandsons, Nathaniel, Espn, Daniel, Landon, and Easton; uncles, James Boggus and David Boggus; and other extended family which includes several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

Funeral services will be on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Bishop Jim Elmore officiating Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call from 12:30 PM until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
