John Wesley Wriston, 77, of Mossy, WV died on Monday, November 21, 2005 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV after a long battle with lung disease. Born October 27, 1928 at Kingston, WV he was the son of the late Rev. Howard Ray "H.R." and Lucille Scott Wriston. Mr. Wriston attended Asbury College and Morris Harvey College. He was a Boy Scout leader and active in commuity service for many years in Pinch, WV where he resided at the time. He was employed by Dover Elevator Company for 30 years, retiring in 1991. He was a US Air Force veteran. His first wife, Ellogene Hawkins Wriston; a son, David Paul Wriston and two brothers, Howard Ray Wriston, Jr. and James Scott Wriston preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Brenda Wright Wriston; former wife, Judy Weatherholt Wriston; three sons, Rick Wriston and wife, Anja, of Albuquerque, NM, John Dale Wriston of Orland, FL and Wesley Wriston of Mossy, WV; two daughters, Phala Wriston of Paisely, FL and Angela Lilly and husband, Eddie, of Oak Hill, WV; three step children, eight grandchildren, three step grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by his brother, Rev. Henry C. Wriston of Rock Hill, SC; three sisters, Helen Ward of Phoenix, AZ, Margaret Richman of Grafton, WV and Mary Jane Morris of Pinch, WV. John was greatly loved by many nieces abd nephews and a host of friends and extended family. Mr. Wriston was cremated. There will be no visitation or service at this time.
