John H. Wooldridge, Sr.

John H. Wooldridge, Sr.,73, of Bradley, WV died Friday, January 16, 2009 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born June 5, 1935, at Thacker, WV, he was the son of the late Bryant and Maggie Ford Wooldridge. He retired from the coal mining industry and was a member of the U.M.W.A. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Nary and Gladys Wilkerson; and one brother, Charlie Wooldridge. Survivors include his wife, Christine Underwood Wooldridge; one daughter, Kyleen Richardson of Hix Mountain; two sons, John Wooldridge, Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Sand Branch Road and Michael Wooldridge and his wife, Cindy, of Mt. Tabor Road; five grandchildren, Marc Richardson, Cassie Wooldridge, Curry Wooldridge, Jordan Wooldridge, and Drew Wooldridge; one brother, Bryant Wooldridge, Jr. of Manassas, VA; two sisters, Marie Lilly of Rt. 1, Mount Hope, Patricia Lovelace of Stephens City, VA; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Wooldridge of Bradley. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, January 19, at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope with Rev. Jimmy Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
