John H. Williams

John Hunter Williams, 82, of Rt 3 Fayetteville, WV died on Thursday, July 31, 2003 at the home of his caregivers, John and Barbara Kinley in Oak Hill, WV following a long illness. Born March 8, 1921 at Durbin, WV he was the son of the late John Luther and Frona Flynn Williams. Mr. Williams was a retired Chemical Engineer for Firestone Tire & Rubber Company, Akron, OH. He was a member of the Oak Hill United Methodist Church and had served as a pilot in the US Navy. He was preceded in death by his his wife, Evelyn Barlow Williams; a brother, Robert Williams and a sister, Millie Williams. Survivors include a son, John Hunter Williams, Jr. of Alexandria, VA; daughter, Millie W. Petersen of Fayetteville, WV and grandchildren, Drew and Julie Petersen of Fayetteville. Graveside rites and committal will be on Saturday, August 2, 2003 at 4:00 P.M. at Arbovale Cemetery in Arbovale. Rev. Mark Flynn Burial will be at Arbovale Cemetery., Arbovale, WV In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Flynn Foundations, Scholarship Fund, Cullowhee, NC 28723 or to the Salvation Army, 312 S. Fayette Street, Beckley, WV 25801.
