John Leonard Smith, 41, of Oak Hill died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Mulberry. Born at Beckley on February 28, 1968, he was the son of the late Aubrey Smith and Ruby Evans Cox. He was a mason for 18 years. Preceded him in death besides his parents, father, Bill Stevens; sister, Carmella Sullivan; brother, Elmer Ray Evans; a sister-in-law, Susan Evans; a niece, Amanda Sue Griffith. He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Pamela Smith; father, Franklin Cox; sister, Billie Remy of Oak Hill; brothers, Jackie Smith and Dale Smith of Oak Hill; mother-in-law, Betty Chestnut; two daughters, Ashley and Brittnany Smith of Minden; stepchildren, Lela Mitchell and Sterling of Oak Hill; Nicky Gill and Justin of Scarbro, Carol Smith of Scarbro; Charlie Smith of Scarbro and Dakota Smith of Scarbro; three beautiful grandkids, Kyra Mitchell, Jr. Mithchell, Isaac Mitchell of Oak Hill; several nieces and nephews; four great nieces; several aunts and uncles; five best friends, Junior Wickline, Shannon Butner, Edward Elmore, Jimmy Aldridge, and Matthew Fleshman. A visitation will be held from 6 until 8 PM Saturday evening, November 28, 2009. The body will be cremated.
