John Mike Semerau

John Mike Semerau, 92, of Fayetteville, WV formerly of Oak Hill, died on Friday, April 16, 2004 at Veterans Administration Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born October 28, 1911 at Layland, WV he was the son of the late Julius and Augusta Gubta Semerau. Mr. Semerau was a retired commercial artist. He was one of the first employees hired at WOAY-TV and worked there until his retirement. He was a former member of the Oak Hill Civitan Club. He served in the US Marines during World War II. He is survived by many friends including Bill Brock of Oak Hill. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Wednesday, April 21, 2004, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm. Services will be on Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at 2:00 pm at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with a eulogy by Senator Shirley Love. Burial will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery aka Plateau Historic Cemeteries, Oak Hill WV.
