John Chester Scott, Jr. , 77, of Oak Hill, WV entered the pearly gates on Monday, August 08, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Charleston.
Born September 07, 1938 at Page, WV he was the son of the late John Chester Scott, Sr. and Hiley Ann Dunfee Scott.
John was a graduate of Montgomery High School and attended vocational school for auto mechanics. He was a retired warehouse man for Safeway-Vons in California. As an honorary member of the Red Hat Society, he served as chaplain, bodyguard and mascot. He was a member of the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene.
A grandson, Rick Anthony Salazar; and sisters, Kathleen Scott, Virginia McKinney, Juanita Goode, Polly Scott and Jackie Bobbitt; and brothers, Charlie Bob Dotson and Charlie "Cucaracha" Baker preceded him in death.
Survivors include wife, Hope Victoria Farrow Scott; daughters, Sandra Gail Scott Falicki and husband, Ron of Salton City, CA and Suzanna Lynne Scott Greene and husband, Perry of Cromberg, CA; and sons, John Jefferson Scott and wife, Tracie of Desert Hot Springs, CA, Steven Michael Scott and Cindy Wright of Covina, CA and Rory Dudley and wife, Pauleen of Bolivar, NY.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Steven Ray Salazar, Danielle Elaine Salazar Celestino, Nathaniel John Salazar, Charlie Jo Falicki, Adam Justin Scott, Hawk Scott, Joshua Michael Scott, Mashanda Danielle Scott Lazerus, Stevie Marie Scott, Perry Ephraim Greene, Joshua Ebb Greene, Colin Dudley, Chelsea O'Mara, and Justin Dudley; thirteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including three special nieces, Bonnie Alvarran, Judy Faust and Debbie Hatcher; and a host of friends.
Mr. Scott was cremated. A memorial service will be on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene with Dr. Randy L. James, Dr. Charles Miller & Dr. Sharon Miller officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
