John Curtis Keffer, Sr. 71, of Oak Hill, WV died on Sunday, December 07, 2008 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. Born November 20, 1937 at Whitby, WV he was the son of the late Porter and Mae Blevins Keffer. He was a retired superintendent for Charleston Construction in Saint Albans. Mr. Keffer was a member of the Oak Hill Gospel Tabernacle in Oak Hill. He was a US Air Force veteran. He was preceded in death by five brothers, James Porter Keffer, Jr., Terry Franklin Keffer, Mark Austin Keffer, Marvin Keffer and Daniel Keffer and four sisters, Ettie Brown, Dorothy Meadows, Beulah Miller and Flora Harless. Survivors include wife, Betty Jean Lewis Keffer; two sons, John Curtis Keffer, Jr. and wife, Tina Martin-Keffer and James Thomas Keffer all of Oak Hill; four brothers, Lloyd Keffer, Davie Keffer and Burl Keffer all of Coal City and Roy Keffer of Wakeman, OH and three sisters, Fannie Hensley of Chesterland, OH, Zelda Wills of Sophia and Ruth Bolen of Coal City. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Joshua Keffer, Justin Keffer, Christopher Keffer and Jackson Keffer; three step grandchildren, Tristan Garten, Tiffany Robinson and Alex Garten and a step great grandson, Broc Robinson. Services will be on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Robert Isaacs officiating. Entombment will be at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill with Military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post #3110 of Oak Hill. Friends may call two hours prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Joshua, Justin, Christopher and Jackson Keffer, Jason Bolen and J.D. Wills.
