John Robert Jewell

John Robert Jewell , 63, of Pax, WV died on Monday, December 22, 2008 at his home. Born April 23, 1945 at Maple Fork, WV he was the son of the late Johnny Newton and Nina Hale Jewell. He was a retired machinist for I.T.W. of Glenview, IL. Mr. Jewell was a member of the Maple Fork Baptist Church. He served in the US Army during Vietnam Era having attained the rank of SP4. Two brothers, Wallace Jewell and Jerry Jewell and a sister, Janet Jewell preceded him in death. Following Mr. Jewell's death his wife, Beverly Diane Beardsley Jewell passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2008. Survivors include four sons, Alan Jewell and wife, Lori of Spring Grove, IL, Glen Jewell and wife, Leah of Ingleside, IL, Bryan Jewell and wife, Beth of McHenry, IL and Aaron Jewell and wife, Jody of Spring Grove, IL; two brothers, Eddie Jewell and Ronnie Jewell both of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters, June Kincaid and Connie Blackmon both of Jacksonville, FL and eight grandchildren. Services will be on Monday, December 29, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Maple Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Barley officiating. Burial will be at Craddock Cemetery, Maple Fork WV. Visitation will be held at Maple Fork Baptist Church on Sunday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Alan, Jewell, David Jewell, Glen Jewell, Dennis Dostie, Bryan Jewell, Aaron Jewell, Travis Jewell and Josh Jewell will serve as pallbearers.
