John H. Harmon, 77, of Dayton, Ohio formerly of Oak Hill, WV passed away Saturday, September 1, 2007 in Dayton, Ohio. Preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Grace Harmon; three brothers, William, Joseph and Wesley Harmon; three sisters, Helen Blankenship, Betty Ruth Short Hawkins, and Mary Jean Gazzigla. Survived by loving and devoted wife of 55 years Bonnie, one son, Paul Harmon and wife, Jody; and two grandsons, Matthew and Billy Harmon of Westford,MA; two sisters, Henrietta Jones of Fredricksburg, VA, and Shirley Light of Oak Hill, WV and many nieces and nephews, and friends. Proudly served in US Air Force for 6 years in Okinawa, spent 28 years working for McCall's (Dayton Press) and 12 years with Lehigh Press in Carrollton, TX where he helped start up a new TV Guide plant. After retiring, he worked part time for 12 years at Westendorf Printing Co. in Dayton, OH. Was a member of First Baptist Church of Kettering. The family wishes to thank the many friends who helped care for him during many years of illness. Graveside Rites and Committal Services will be held at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill on Tuesday, Sept. 4, at 2:15 PM with Rev. Joseph Harmon officiating. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call from Noon until 2:00 PM Tuesday at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill. Military rites will be conducted by the VFW Post #3110, Oak Hill.
