John T. Catlett

John Thomas Catlett, 78, of Maple Fork, WV died on Sunday, August 15, 2004 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born May 13, 1926 at Mapel Fork, WV he was the son of the late John Wesley and Sarah Elizabeth "Lizzie" Davis Catlett. He was a retired coal miner. Mr. Catlett attended the Sand Branch Worship Center. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell J. Catlett and James T. Catlett. Survivors include wife, Katherine Chetuck Catlett; stepdaughters, Patricia Whitehair of Maynor, Heidie Speciale of Owings Mills, MD, Debbie Cunningham of North Carolina and Marie Waldron of New York; stepson, Michael Karl Vonkanpen of South Carolina; sisters, Erma Jean Allen of Stanaford, June McGinnus and Jewell Stover both of Beckley; brother, Adair Catlett of Maple Fork and by 8 step-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope on Tuesday, August 17, 2004 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Services will be on Wednesday, August 18, 2004, at 1:00 pm at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope with Rev. Johnny Catlett and Rev. Ken Souder officiating. Burial will be at Davis Cemetery, Maple Fork WV.
