Joe Henry Smith

Joe Henry Smith, 60, of Scarbro, WV died on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born July 27, 1949 at Mossy, WV he was the son of the late Artie Layton and Nettie Irene Stover Smith. Joe as a truck driver for Duster Trucking Company of Oak Hill. He was a member of the Dothan Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, one brother, Arlie Franklin Smith and one sister, Barbara Yates preceded him in death. Survivors include a son, Joey Smith of Long Branch Road; two daughters, Teresa Smith of Oak Hill and Cyndi Ingram of West Frankfort, IL; five brothers, Samuel Smith, Phillip Smith, Bobby Smith and Jackie Smith all of Scarbro and Roger Smith of Manassas, VA and four sisters, Loretta Walker and Tammy Nady of Adkins, VA, Faye Campbell of West Frankfort, IL and Bethel Coleman of Frisco, TX. Four grandchildren, Samantha Jo Wise, Kathryn Wise, Sarah McKinney and Kenneth McKinney also survive him. Services will be on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, in Oak Hill with Pastor Lum Toney officiating. Burial will be at Smith Family Cemetery, Lick Fork. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 23, 2009, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
