Joanna Brooke Maddox

Joanna Brooke Maddox, affectionately known to all as Jojo, gave us 23 days this side of Heaven to love her. Our loss was Heavens gain when she passed peacefully in the arms of her parents December 20th at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Her short life was spent with her parents by her side, along with the care and love of the best medical team of doctors and nurses. She excelled in every single step of the process from responding well to surgery, out working the machines put in place to help her, defying diagnoses, and inspiring nurses and doctors with her strength. 

Jojo will forever be loved by her parents, Zeke & Miranda Maddox of Oak Hill, WV. Maternal grandparents, "Pops" Greg & "Mimi" Misty Hurley of Edmond, WV. Paternal grandparents, "Grandpa Joe" Joe & "Nana" Daphyne Maddox of Madisonville, Ky. 

 Great grandmothers, Martha Hurley of Fayetteville, WV and Donna Gibson of Deepwater, WV. Great, great Aunt Sandy and great, great Uncle Jack French of Madisonville, Ky. Aunts, uncles, and cousins that will never let her memory die. 

 With Jojos passing, we remind others her life is one to be celebrated. Although we miss her everyday, her spunky, fighting spirit will forever remain in our hearts. With her courage she led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories with the ones we love.

 We will be celebrating Jojos life Saturday December 28th with visitation from 11-1 and a homegoing service directly after starting at 1pm at Solid Rock Worship Center. In honoring Jojo, we ask that you wear bright colors to help us celebrate the bright light that she left behind. Graveside rites will be for immediate family only following the service.
