Jo Ann Stevenson
August 17, 1943 — March 24, 2016
Jo Ann Deeds Stevenson, 72, of Oak Hill passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016.
Born August 17, 1943 at Beckley, WV, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Willia Mae Farley Deeds.
JoAnn graduated from Concord College with a Bachelors Degree in Music and while in college she also did modeling. She went on to teach music in the Fayette and Summers county school systems. Jo Ann then decided to teach private piano and organ lessons. Then her career path changed to a salesperson in jewelry for Lillys and later retired from Zales Jewelry.
Those left to cherish her memory is her daughter and best friend, Deana Bennett and husband Charlie “Romeo”; Bobby Hogan and wife, Ann, Dean Hogan and wife Lela, Ben Hogan, and “Grand Uncle” Jack Farley and numerous cousins.
Her hobbies included flower arranging, playing the piano and organ, gardening and enjoying her animals.
The thing she treasured most was being a "Mother."
The family extends a “Special” Thanks to three very special people, Merry Hanning, Linda Leffel and Karen Wriston.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Lewis Sanson officiating. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park , Oak Hill. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
