Jim "Pee Wee" D'Angelo

Jim "Pee Wee" D'Angelo , 57, of Mount Hope, WV formerly of Glen Jean, WV died on Monday, May 20, 2013 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born August 23, 1955 at Beckley, WV he was the son of the late Jim and Lucille Romano D'Angelo. Mr. D'Angelo was a retired plant operator for Reclaiming LLC. He was a member of the Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Oak Hill. Pee Wee was an avid fan of the WVU Mountaineers and NASCAR with Tony Stewart being his favorite driver. Special thanks to his Hospice nurses who treated him with love and kindness. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the friends who helped Pee Wee through his trying times. Survivors include his wife, Anita Marie Rhodes D'Angelo; two daughters, Lucy D'Angelo of Beckley and Jamie D'Angelo of Oak Hill; three brothers, Carmen D'Angelo and wife, Mary of Derry Hale, Nick D'Angelo of Oak Hill and Mickey Ray Menei and wife, Melissa of Oak Hill and a sister, Carmen Marie D'Angelo of Oak Hill. Pee Wee is also survived by six grandchildren, Maddie, Kenley, Chloe, Harlan, Cali, and Benjamin D'Angelo Miller, uncles, Vince Menei and wife, Norma of Derry Hale, Raymond Menei and wife, Phyllis of Mount Hope and Buddy Vannater and wife, Ann of Beckley; aunts, Carol Menei of Glen Jean and Jo Lafferty of Oak Hill; special nephew, Vincent Frank D'Angelo and wife, Teresa; and several other nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Oak Hill with Father Paul Yuenger officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope on Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Nico Menei, Andrew D'Angelo, Timmy Newsome, Stevie Matheny, Sam Gregory and Michael Cottle will serve as pallbearers.
