Jessie Lucille Jones, 86, of Mount Hope, passed away at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV on Tuesday, August 21, 2007, after a long illness. She was born on January 23, 1921, in Harvey, WV the daughter of the late William Silas and Jessie E. Lego Cumbow. Mrs. Jones was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Fayette County. A caregiver for most of her years, she enriched the lives of many. She attended the Mount Hope First Church of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jones; a son, Donald Jones; a son-in-law, John Cheetham; three sisters, Kathleen Lukie, Erma Fitzgerald, and Lola Gregory and three brothers, Lawrence, Lloyd, and William Cumbow. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Doris Cheetham of Mount Hope, with whom she made her home; her son, Charles "Chuck" Jones of Fredericksburg, VA; her sister, Doris Humphrey of Hilltop; five grandchildren, Terri Keith and her husband, Rob, of Duluth, GA, Sandy Fox and her husband, Andy, of Daniels, Donald Jones of Maine, Jeff Jones of Oak Hill, and Tracy Jones of Oak Hill; three great-grandsons, Anthony Lancianese of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Jordan Sadler of Duluth, GA, and. Jesse Jones of Fredericksburg, VA; three great-granddaughters, Brandy Jones of Beckley, and Aleah and Cassidy Jones of Fredericksburg, VA; and a great great-grandson, Jacob Bowyer of Beckley. Known to many others as "Aunt Boots", she also leaves behind an extended family to mourn her passing. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 24, at 2:00 p.m. at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Pastor Ronnie Stapleton officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill. Friends may call Friday from noon until 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, WV, 25801.
