Jerry Dickerson

Jerry Dickerson, age 73, died on Friday, July 19, 2024 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV surrounded by his children and sister. Jerry was born on November 30, 1950, in the heart of coal country in Mullens, West Virginia to the late James Morris and Mary Charlene Dickerson.

In January 1969 Jerry enlisted in the United States Army. He proudly served his country in Tam Kỳ, Vietnam until November 1971. Upon completion of service to his country Jerry spent 25 years as a coalminer for Consolidation Coal Company.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Teresa Dickerson, his parents James and Charlene Dickerson, and his brother Steve Dickerson.

Those left to honor Jerry are son Craig (Taunya) Dickerson, daughter Flechia (Richard) Priode; six grandchildren, Kate and Logan Dickerson; Robert, Elizabeth, Rebecca, and Harrison Priode; sister Kathy (Roger) Lambert; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA with Lonnie Perkins officiating. 

In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made in honor of Jerry to the Disabled American Veterans at dav.org
