Jean McAllister Allport , 81, of Oak Hill, WV died on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.
Born July 07, 1933 at Lookout, WV she was the daughter of the late Russell E. McAllister and Mary Taylor McAllister Owen.
She was retired from the Fayette County Board of Education having worked as service personnel at Fayetteville High School.
Her husband, Thomas David "Dave" Allport preceded her in death as did her stepmother, Ola McAllister; stepfather, Virgil Owen; half brother, Gary Owen of Waukegan, IL and sister, Doris King of Mathews, NC.
Survivors include daughter, Linda Allport Holliday and husband, Richard "Doc" of Oak Hill; son Eugene Allport and wife, Frances of Lexington, KY; half-sister, Pat Rost and husband, Bill of Waukegan, IL; half-brother, Larry "Mickey" Owen and wife, Linda of Ft. Myers, FL; one granddaughter, Mindy Allport-Settle of Raleigh, NC; two grandsons, Chris Allport and wife, Kathleen of Richmond, VA and Jared Allport and wife, Brooke of Washington, D.C. two great granddaughters, Netta Allport and Sadie Allport and a great grandson, David Allport.
Mrs. Allport was cremated. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Restlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Victor with Rev. David Sneed officiating. Burial will follow. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday the Mausoleum.
