Jayann Scollick of Fayetteville, WV passed peacefully away Monday, March 11, 2024.
Jayann was proceeded in death by her father, Ed Scollick. She is survived by her mother, Carol Scollick of
Fayetteville, WV and her son Edison Jones of Fayetteville, WV. She has many loyal cousins and family that
meant a lot to her.
Jayann was a devoted mother who raised a remarkable young man. She was a beloved art teacher at Robinson Junior High School in Toledo, Ohio and Oak Hill High School in Oak Hill, WV where staff and faculty grew to adore her. River guiding drew her to West Virginia where she made friends with everyone she took rafting through Adventures on the
Gorge and previously at Songer Whitewater. Her fellow guides knew she was reliable, honest, and loved a wild river ride.
She dedicated herself to ski patrolling at Winterplace to help others and become a role model instructor of the Outdoor Emergency Responder course.
Jayann was a artist, adventurer, problem solver and loved her friends and family fiercely. She stepped up to support
the people around her at every chance. She made her mother proud a million times over.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jayann's name to Hospice of Southern West Virginia.
There will not be any funeral services. Later in the spring, there will be a Celebration of Life.
