Janet Fern Hurt

With her family by her side, Janet Fern Jones Hurt, 79 of Glen Jean passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at her residence.

Born April 4, 1939 in Marmet, WV she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Evelyn Surface Jones.

Janet was a retired secretary from the Fayette County Board of Education. She was a loving mother who loved spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Edgar Hurt.

Those left to cherish her memory include her four loving sons, William Edgar (Kimberley) Hurt, Jr., Mark Alan (Connie) Hurt, Mike Wayne (Carol Treadway-Hurt) Hurt, and Lloyd Anthony “Pete” Hurt; eleven grandchildren, Amanda Rutledge, Tiffany Greenberg, Andrea Humphrey, Christina Hurt, Justin Hurt, Erica Hurt, Nathan Hurt, Logan Hurt, Ian Hurt, Emma Hurt, and Bella Hurt; five step grandchildren, Kaitlyn Tolley, Garron Tolley, Adrianna Tolley, Matt Evans, and Eva Evans; five great grandchildren, Alexis Rutledge, Chasity Humphrey, Haven Humphrey, Teagan Macey, and Dalton Hinkle; two sisters, Wanda Perry, and Judy (Jerry) Collier.

Funeral service will be 1:30 P.M. Monday, March 11, 2019 at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope with Pastor Randy Sunderland officiating. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation for friends will be from 5:00 P.M. To 7:00 P.M. Sunday, March 10, 2019 at the funeral home.

Family an friends will serve as pallbearers.
