James Eugene Thorne , 86, of Oak Hill, WV died on Sunday, March 05, 2017 at Hilltop Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Hilltop, WV.
Born November 27, 1930 at Rock Lick, WV he was the son of the late Luther M. "Mote" and Annie Florence East Thorne.
Mr. Thorne was a member of the Oak Hill Church of Christ and the Masonic Lodge.
He retired from BMW where he worked as a pipe fitter, and worked for Balaum Restaurants part time.
He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Thorne.
Survivors include his wife, Marian Black Thorne; son, Ronald Thorne and wife, Bonnie, of Norton, OH; two brothers, Paul Thorne and Leon "Skip" Thorne; grandchildren, Michael Thorne, David Thorne, Elizabeth Mellinger and Timothy "Aaron" Thorne;and several great grandchildren.
Services will be on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with John Scott officiating. Entombment will be at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
