James "J.D." Pennington
November 8, 1945 — July 17, 2015
Our much loved son, father, grandfather and brother, James David "J.D." Pennington , 68, of Beards Fork, WV passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.
Born November 08, 1945 at Robson, WV he was the son of Odella Beals Pennington and the late Roy Eldridge Pennington..
He was a coal miner. J.D. loved his wife, family and friends. Most of all he felt at home in nature where he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life - his wife, Linda Gaye Coffman Pennington and his dear sister, Shirley June Pennington-Long.
In addition to his beloved mother, J.D. is survived by his only daughter, Sheila Gaye Pennington and Daniel Guerra; granddaughter, Layna Sheila Marie Pennington-Ridenour and Brad Madison; and the joy of his life his great granddaughter, Arianna Marie Ridenour.
He is also survived by sisters, Ella Pennington Evans and husband, Bill and Sue Pennington Helton and husband, Tom; brothers in law, Mackey Coffman and Roger Coffman and wife, Laura; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him but we take comfort in knowing he is at peace now being with those who have gone before and that we are surrounded here by our loving family and friends.
A visitation and time of remembrance will be held at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill on Saturday, July 25, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. In accordance with his wishes, J.D. will be cremated following the service.
