James Mccallister

James Albert McCallister, 95, of Rt. 2, Scarbro, passed away Wednesday, June 23, at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley. Born October 21, 1912 at Summerlee, he was the son of the late George Thomas McCallister and Margaret B. McCallister. He was a retired coal truck driver and attended the Scarbro United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. Survivors include his wife, Violet A. Brown McCallister; one daughter, Margaret Pack and husband, Milburn of Danese, three sons, James A. McCallister, jr. and wife, Paulette, Springfield, VA, Randall Lee McCallister and wife, Teresa, Maple Fork, Dallas E. McCallister and wife, Linda, Covington, VA; eleven grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. A special thanks to the staff at Bowers Hospice House and to his special friend, Beverly Burnette. Service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, June 29, at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill with his grandson, Pastor Milburn Pack officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
