James P. "Bud" King, 80, of Oak Hill died Saturday, April 22, 2006 at his home after a long illness. Born August 24, 1925, at Bolt, he was the son of the late Paul Upton and Lottie M. Acord King. Mr. King was a retired receiving clerk for Long Airdox in Oak Hill. He was of the Protestant faith, a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Oak Hill Lodge No. 120 A.F. & A.M. He was preceded in death a son-in-law, William H. "Jocko" Booth. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mary Jane Lucas King; two daughters, Rose Mary Christian and husband, Butch, of Oak Hill and Becky Booth of Oak Hill; three granddaughters, Amy Hunt and husband, Steve, of Orlando, FL, Brook Hunt and husband, Rick, of Oak Hill and Kerby Booth of Oak Hill; a great-grandson, Eason Hunt of Orlando, FL; special aunts, Maggie Dickens of Vandalia, OH and Stollie Acord of Bolt; caregivers, Henrietta Massey, Diana McKinney, Joyce Foster and others. Service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with the Rev. Jimmy Menefee officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call from 11:00 A. M. until 2:00 P. M. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the M & M Family Fund, c/o Chase Bank, 215 Main Street West, Oak Hill, WV 25901. Pallbearers will be Butch Christian, Steve Hunt, Tom Stafford, Rick Hunt, Robbie Bledsoe and John Janney.
