James Walter “Jimmy” Alexander, II , 66, of Oak Hill, WV died on Friday, March 22, 2013 at his home. Born April 15, 1946 at Oak Hill, WV he was the son of the late James Walter and Anne Deaner Alexander. Jimmy was a 1964 graduate of Collins High School in Oak Hill and member of the OHH/CHS Alumni Association, past member of the Board of Directors and contributor to the Reunion Log with his writings about Oak Hill. A talented artist, it was well known that if you needed a sign or a document drawn or lettered Jimmy was the one to ask. He graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and was employed as a funeral director and embalmer for Tyree Funeral Home, Inc. where had been Manager since 1983. He was a member of the WV Funeral Directors Association. Jimmy was a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church and attended the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene. He was a member and past Master of the Oak Hill Lodge No. 120 A.F. and A.M. ; member of Sewell Chapter No. 24 R.A.M.; Mount Hope Commandery No. 22 K.T. and past Patron for Oak Hill O.E.S. No. 107. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Lynn Portman Alexander, one son, Robert Joseph Alexander of Oak Hill, a daughter, Michelle Dawn Alexander of Kingsport, TN,and sister, Irene Neely of Oak Hill. He is also survived by a grandson Shawn Alexander, an aunt, Grace Carter, a nephew, and several nieces, and cousins. Funeral services will be on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. David Sneed and Pastor Dave Edwards officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill with Masonic graveside rites by Oak Hill Lodge No. 120 A.F. and A.M.
