James E. Falk

James Eugene Falk, 88, of Delbarton, WV formerly of Oak Hill, WV died on Saturday, July 05, 2008 at Williamson Hospital in Williamson, WV. Born February 09, 1920 at Eccles, WV he was the son of the late Ben Joseph and Lenna Agnes Garrison Falk. Mr. Falk was a retired coal miner having last worked for Royal Coal Company at Layland. He was a member of the UMWA. He was a World War II US Army veteran having attained the rank of Corporal and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Scott Allen Falk; brothers, Alonzo Theodore Falk, Erschel Dempsey Falk, Vernon Forrest Falk, Wilbur Julis Falk, Thomas Falk, Henry Falk and Fred Falk and a half-sister, Ruby Westmoreland. Survivors include two sons: Donnie G. Falk and wife, Connie of Delbarton and James E. Falk, Jr. and wife, Becky of Greensboro, NC; three step-daughters, Sue Hodges and husband, Ronald of Beckley, Frankie Steele and husband, Timothy and Kathy Ann Plumley and husband, Gary Dewayne of Prosperity; one sister: Patricia Ann Falk of Oak Hill; two brothers: Ben J. Falk of Bradley and Delano Falk of Dayton, OH; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Services will be on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Haskell Runyon officiating. Burial will be at Hilltop Cemetery, Hilltop WV with military graveside rites by VFW Post #3110 of Oak Hill Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
