James E. Elder

James Edward Elder, 82, of Oak Hill, WV died on Thursday, December 29, 2005 at CAMC - Memorial Division in Charleston, WV. Born March 13, 1923 at Sanger, WV he was the son of the late William Edward and Hessie Carle Burgess Elder. He was a retired serviceman for Sears and a former coal miner. He served in the US Army during World War II. Two brothers, Willie L. Elder and Bobby Lee Elder preceded him in death. Survivors include two daughters, Michelle Gwinn of Fayetteville, WV and Jeannie Smith of Oak Hill, WV; one son, Randy Elder of Oak Hill, WV; four brothers, Donald C. "Butch" Elder and Everette J. Elder both of Oak Hill, WV, Lawrence G. Elder and Frankin D. Elder both of Florida; two sisters, Charlotte I. Shuff and Betty A. Merritt both of Oak Hill, WV; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. There will be no visitation. Graveside rites and committal service will be on Saturday, December 31, 2005, at 11:00 A.M. at Huse Memorial Park in Fayetteville, WV with Rev. Bill Drennen officiating. Burial will be at Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville WV with military graveside rites by VFW Post #3110, Oak Hill, WV.
