James A. "Dick" Taylor , 89, of Oak Hill, WV died on Monday, November 04, 2013 at CAMC - General Division in Charleston, WV. Born February 26, 1924 at Prudence, WV he was the son of the late Carl and Elizabeth Starks Taylor. Dick was a retired Service Man for WV American Water Company with 33 years service. He served in the US Marines during World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion Post 149 in Fayetteville. Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Fesco Taylor; son, Robert Taylor and wife, Tammie of Fayetteville; daughter, Karen Cogar and husband, Lee of Oak Hill and sister, Maxine Vandall of Beckley. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Kristina Taylor, Morgan Roark and husband, Jordan and Jennifer Toney and husband, Rodney and five great grandchildren, Payton Roark, Amber Toney, Tristan Toney, Kaleb Toney and Jeremiah Toney. Funeral services will be on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Paul Basham officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill with military graveside rites by Oak Hill VFW Post #3110. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Thursday, November 7, 2013 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
