Jackie "Jack" Phil Guthrie, 75, of Hilltop, WV died on Thursday, August 13, 2009 at his home. Born April 12, 1934 at Mount Hope, WV he was the son of the late Robert B. Guthrie, Sr. and Gusta M. Weis Guthrie. Mr. Guthrie was a retired construction worker having called himself a "Jack of all trades." He worked on the building of the New River Gorge Bridge. He had also been previously employed as a security guard at the Moundsville Penitentiary. He served in the US Army during Korean Conflict. His wife, Flora Gail Ellison Guthrie; a daughter, Theresa G. Pengov and two grandchildren, Greg Keene and Jacob Craigo preceded him in death. He was also the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survivors include sons, Jack Guthrie and wife, Stephanie of Virginia and Anthony Guthrie and wife, Darlene of Indiana; daughters, Sherry Keene and husband, Doug of Lorain, OH, Anne Keene of Lorain, OH, Lisa Ritter and husband, Mike of Lookout, Kathy Roles and husband, Charlie of Hilltop and Elizabeth Guthrie and companion, Kevin Davidson of Summerlee; twenty six grandchildren and thirty three great grandchildren. There will be a visitation will at Tyree Funeral Home on Saturday, August 15, 2009 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM which will conclude with military rites conducted by VFW Post #3110 of Oak Hill.
