Jackie Lee Bowyer Wickline

February 8, 1957 — August 18, 2013

Jackie Lee Bowyer Wickline, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, journeyed home to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, August 18, 2013. She passed away at CAMC Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family. Jackie was born in Oak Hill, WV, on February 8, 1957, to the late Lawrence and Patsy Fox Bowyer. She graduated from Collins High School in 1975 and went on to earn her Associates Degree in nursing from Bluefield State College and her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration from Mountain State University. She worked as a registered nurse for many years, recently retiring from the WVDHHR where she served as a nursing home surveyor. Preceding her in death were her parents and her brother, Larry Bowyer. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 34 years, James Richard Wickline, her daughter Kelly Anne Wickline, her daughter Stacy (Eugene) Wickline Stump, her son Daniel Bowyer, and her precious grandchildren Connor and Brenna Stump, who lovingly knew her as their “Nene.” She also leaves behind her sister, Christy (Ralph) Humphrey, several nieces and nephews, as well as numerous other friends and family. Jackie enjoyed reading, relaxing at home, cooking, baking, and spending time with her family. She was the love of her husband’s life, the best mother any child could ask for, and a sweet, playful grandmother to her young grandbabies. She will be remembered for her indomitable spirit, quick wit, generous heart, and unwavering love for her family. The family wishes to thank those who called, visited, and who sent food and cards during Jackie’s illness. They also want to extend their appreciation to the hospice nurses and medical staff at CAMC who helped care for her. Honoring Jackie’s request, she is being cremated and there will be no visitation or services. Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill, WV is handling her arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.tyreefuneralhome.com .
