Jackie Charles Blake

Jackie Charles Blake , 78, of Dearborn Heights, MI died on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at his home. Born September 19, 1933 at Sanger, WV he was the son of the late Lawrence and Lena Vera Johnson Blake. Jackie worked as an auto mechanic, truck driver and in home improvement construction. He was the retired owner of Prime Roofing and Siding. He raced cars and trucks and was a record holder and winner of 5 trophies. He was a member of the Wayne Chapter of Gideons International and was a US Marine Corps veteran. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Shirley Mae Yarber Blake , five children, L. Charles (Mary) Blake of Dearborn Heights, MI, Robert L. (Mary Jane) Blake of Inkster, MI, Kevin W. (Maria) Blake of Lincoln Park, MI, Cheryl M. (James, Sr. ) Blake Inkster, MI and Deborah L. Sandoval of Ghent, brothers, Roy E. (Pamela) Blake, Albert V. (Donna) Blake, Kenneth L. (Nancie) Blake, Dana F. (Jennifer) Blake and William R. Blake, sisters, Elizabeth C. (Bobby) Young, Nancy S. (Carl) Thompson, Kay M. (Dick) Pearson, and Vera M. (Ronald) Thompson, eighteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Bethel Baptist Church at Lochgelly, WV with Rev. Robert Pauley officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill with military graveside rites by Oak Hill VFW Post #3110.
