Iva E. Billings

Iva E. Billings, 92, of Beckley, formerly of Long Branch, died Friday, April 27, 2007 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley after a long illness. Born November 30, 1914 at Long Branch, WV, she was a daughter of the late Tazewell and Dollie Underwood. She was a homemaker and a 70 year member of the Long Branch United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roby Lee Billings; one daughter, Jane Billings; two grandsons, David Holden and Jackie Lee Coleman; four sisters, and two brothers. Survivors include four daughters, Billie Crouse, Beckley, with whom she made her home, Peggy Plumley and husband, Charles, Beckley, Nancy Kubasek and husband, Joe, Oregon, OH, and Alice Holden, Whiting, IN; two sons, Jackie Coleman and wife, Nadean of Pax, Roby Wayne Billings, and wife, Sharon, Hammond, IN; one brother, James Underwood and wife, Dorothy, Hurricane, WV; fifteen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, and fourteen great great grandchildren; and two special friends, Mabel Williams and Gloria Crew. Service will be at 2:00 PM Monday, April 30 at the Long Branch United Methodist Church with the Rev. Chalmer Abrams officiating. Burial will follow at Pax Community Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.
