Ida M. Martin

Ida Mae Shockey Martin, 87, of Oak Hill, WV died on Monday, August 10, 2009 at her home. Born January 05, 1922 at Fayetteville, WV she was the daughter of the late John and Mamie Kincaid Shockey. Mrs. Martin was a member of the Mount Hope Assembly of God and was a homemaker. Her husband, Harry Clarence Martin; two daughters, Patricia Martin and Georgia Jones and two brothers, William Shockey and Houston Shockey preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Clarence Martin of Oak Hill and Harry Wayne Martin of Oak Hill; five daughters, Nancy Vandercook of Toledo, OH, Judy Cook of Tampa, FL, Dorothy Dilley of Bardstown, KY, Linda Sears of Minden and JoAnn Cox of Oak Hill and two sisters, Savannah Thower of Santa Barbara, CA. and Viola Smith of Clinton, OK. Sixteen grandchildren including a special granddaughter, Carla Ervin of Oak Hill, twenty-seven great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren also survive her. Services will be at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 13, 2009 with Rev. Jessie Parker and Pastor Jerry Bush officiating. Burial will be at Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
