Ida Mae Canterbury Dodd

Ida Mae Canterbury Dodd, age 88, of Oak Hill, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2014 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley. Born December 31, 1925, in Monroe County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Maxie and Cammie Wilson Canterbury. Ida was a homemaker, attended the Gospel Tabernacle and a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, (Laureate Beta Chapter) Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Dodd , by three grandchildren, Michael Dodd, Steven Edward Corder and Pamela Gay Corder and by two sister, Wanda Kurzyna and Hilda West. Surviving are her children, Gloria Wallace of Murrieta, CA, Sue Corder and husband Meade of Oak Hill, Polly Reynolds and husband Lewis of Fayetteville and Reggie Dodd and wife Terri of Oak Hill; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her three sisters, Mary Hisel of CA, Iona Neely of NC and Naoma Gwinn of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Pastor Mike Kees officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 from 12:30-2:00 PM. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
