Hugh Broughman

Hugh Daniel Broughman,76, of Oak Hill passed away Friday, April 8, 2005 at the CAMC Memorial Division, Charleston, following a short illness. Born July 10, 1928 at Huntington, he was the son of the late Harry St. George Broughman, Sr. and Martha Josephine Harrah Broughman. Mr. Broughman was a retired Maintenance of Way employee of the Virginian/N&W Railway/Norfolk & Southern Railroad with 43 1/2 years of service. He was a member of the Jones Avenue First Church of God, Oak Hill. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, John Walter Broughman; three brothers, Seibert, William and Harry, Jr. Broughman; and one sister, Helen Broughman. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Ann Alexander Broughman of Oak Hill; his son, Stephen Allan Broughman & his wife, Cathy of Oak Hill; two grandchildren, Stephanie Lynn Broughman and Stephen Allan Broughman II, both of Oak Hill and one sister, Margaret Broughman of Oak Hill. Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at Jones Avenue First Church of God, Oak Hill with Rev. Ralph Shupe and Rev. Richard Bradley officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday evening at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
