Howard McKinley Tyree, 77, of Rock Lick, WV died on Thursday, November 11, 2004 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV of an apparent heart attack. Born May 26, 1927 at Lively, WV he was the son of the late Jefferson C. and Della E. Lively Tyree. He was a retired policeman for the city of Oak Hill. Mr. Tyree was a member of the Rock Lick Community Church, Rock Lick, WV. He served in the US Army during Korean Conflict. Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Ann Stover Tyree on June 20, 1997; an infant daughter, Jacquetta Lynn Tyree; brothers, Frank L. Tyree, Lawrence L. Tyree and Ross Tyree and a sister, Mary Kesler. Survivors include sons, Larry Stover and Howard Bedford Tyree both of Rock Lick; sister, Blanche Davis of Oak Hill; brother, Lewis F. "Buster" Tyree of Charleston; 5 granchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Sunday, November 14, 2004, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Services will be on Sunday, November 14, 2004 at 2:00 pm at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Bill Menefee officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV with military graveside rites by VFW Post #3110, Oak Hill. Debi Whitlock, Denny Cole, Max Tyree, Kent Tyree, Rick Campbell and Larry Tyree will serve as pallbearers.
